Oh~..,!?

Oh.

When you read that one word, comprises of 2 letters and a full-stop, how did you read it? How did you interpret it? Like every other word that symbolizes emotion in this word, a simple "oh" could have been interpreted in soooo many ways.

Generally, "oh" is understood as an affirmation of something. But the underlying meaning of the affirmation is something debatable.

Depending on the situation. context , the word could mean a lot of thing. So today I want to explore on this little word "oh".

Situation 1
A: Look at that!
B: What?
A: That!
Source

B: Oh...

Okay, are you looking at the ass or the skirt that screams "hey, i just met you, but this is my number, so call me maybe?" hehe

Anyway, in this case "oh" is probably stating "Oh, I see what you mean. Nice one!"
_________________________________________________________________________________

The same conversation, may apply to the opposite with a different "oh"

Situation 2

A: Look at that!
B: What?
A: That!
source

B: oh!

See? in this "oh" is saying "Damn shit! I see what you mean!"
________________________________________________________________________________

Then there's also the "oh" that indicates you remember something.

Situation 3:
A: It's time!
B: What?
A: Don't tell me you forgot!! It's
source

B: Oh!

This "oh" usually sound excited and affirming something. Sometimes followed by "shit" "shoot" and other things that indicate they almost (or already) in trouble. XD
________________________________________________________________________________

There's also "oh" that comes along with a question mark (Oh?)
Like everything that comes with a question mark this "oh" indicates a question. But be careful. Not ALL "oh?" are meant to be answered...

Situation 4:
A: I have NEVER met a guy as coward as you!
B: oh?
Source
Yep it usually come with one eyebrow raised. Be wary. be VERY wary for these kind of "oh". Cause it would usually comes with an action that is total opposite than you expect. If I were you, I'd run.
_______________________________________________________________________________

In many cases "oh" can be correctly be interpreted with the symbols or words that comes before or after it.
But this one, is the most bewildering one.

Situation 5:
What they said:
A: I'm so sorry. I can't make it. I have to help pick up a friend at XY!

What I heard:
A: I can't make it today, I got something more important than you to do.

B: oh.

Yep, when I used the word "oh." To me, no matter what the other person is saying, it meant exactly the above. To me, they just have something else more important than me to pay attention to.

Which is fine. I mean, I also sometimes have other important things rather than them. In these cases, I would've said "ic, it's ok", or "oh, alright, see you next time". And things like that.

But when I reply only those two letters and a full-stop. You can bet that I'm not okay with it at all. It would have meant I was really looking forward or hoping for it. It would have meant, my heart had just been sliced, and is bleeding a bit. That "oh." would mean

"I'm not okay with this"
"Ouch, that hurts!"
"U are breaking my heart"
"You just completely dashed my hopes"
"So I see, I'm not important enough for you, not the way you are to me."

I'm starting to sound a lot like the overly attached girlfriend. lol

Well, I usually return to normal in a while after that. And I would probably soon forget about that incident.
But still, it doesn't lessen the impact it has on me (lol spoken like a real drama queen.)

So anyway, these are just some of the "oh" that crossed my mind. I bet if I "squeeze" more from my brain, I'll get more. But I'm getting lazier to do so.

Tell me, what does "oh" meant for you?

Will write again when I feel like it XD

Oh so Drama!

Hello everyone!

How have life been treating you? Me? At first I thought life had been tough. I was tested with all sorts of problems and heartaches to the point that I felt like crying helplessly - but the thing is, being in the situation I was, I could not even afford the luxury of crying.

But throughout that trying times, I thank Allah that He made me realize that I was blessed with great people surrounding me. My friends, my employers, my colleague, my family - having everyone around me that is so supportive and understanding, I was able to brave it through and face my day with smile and laughter. - Yup Brat had to pretend to grow up a bit. heheh~

Lovey Dovey Tuesday: Forever(s) make me cry....

I found this somewhere on the net years ago... Fell in love instantly with the picture, as well as the wordings. Maybe because I feel it so close to my heart.

Emotionally tired.

You know that moment when you just feel wrong?

When everything ticks you off.

When small setbacks makes you feel like crying.

When a rejection left you feeling totally dejected.

Open Sesamee~~~~ Brat is SO One Malaysia

This is a WaaaAAAAayyyyy overdue post. It was supposed to be up on the blog earlier, but I haven't gotten into editing the pictures until now. There's JUST TOO MUCH things to do! heheh

Alright so on the last 18th September 2011, a day after MY BIRTHDAY, I officially opened my doors, windows, gates and practically ripped my non-existent purse apart for a Raya open house. Seriously, I had NEVER spent THIS MUCH to invite friends and family to come EAT!

Annoying hair

You know when you wake up one day, bathe and clean up and getting ready, and as you think everything is perfect, there's this one strand of hair that refuses to go in line like others? It stick out like a sore thumb and no matter how many gels/oil you put no matter how many times you comb it, it just won't stay down.

I had NEVER experienced that for as long as I remember, until today. It's so annoying and I can't help but touch it again and again. Haisy~

Yup, I'm merely posting this up to tell about my bad hair day~ I hope it won't turn to a disastrous day. Cheerios all, and have a wonderful day :)

p/s: smiling might help.

Sincerely,

My "Secret Garden" dream~~

Maybe some of you didn't know, before brat was a mass communication student, brat was an Architecture student. Due to some circumstances I decided to take my leave and be on my way to something I feel better for me. Let's just keep that boring old story some other time, okay?

Anyway, even though I had long left that area, some of it's influence never left me. I still marvel at different architectural design and sometimes wish I could be the one designing or at least the one who owned it. In terms of houses, brat's preference is more on the modern side. I love those simple, cold design very MUCH!

Modern houses. Pictures from Google

So, a few days ago, brat did a marathon watching a Korean drama called "Secret Garden". The drama was very enjoyable and you come to love the characters like you always do in Korean dramas. In case you're wondering how I rate this drama, I gave it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. It was funny, the story line was interesting, the acting is wonderful, the songs are beautiful and it has a great ending as well. Is it a must watch? YES DEFINITELY.

Anyway, what marvels me are the houses in that drama. Since the main character is claustrophobic, the house is a wonder of architecture - seriously. Plus, it is also probably because they are so damn rich that they can afford such houses.

The exterior
The main hall
The glass bathroom
The cousin's music room

Looking at these pictures, I can't help but think,
CAN I HAVE THIS HOUSE PLEASE?

Sigh~ I'd have to work super damn hard or find myself a billionaire husband.

The later is somewhat un-reachable. lols. Means, I'm gonna have to work hard or just be content with what I will have. Haisy~~

So, do you guys like modern houses too?

Worth of memories

I've been rummaging through my collection of pictures I've taken (and been taken) so far and I find myself looking at 'me' through my memories...

Pictures are... capturing a moment in time... I found myself looking at pictures that worth a thousand words. I remembered those moments that were captured and remember myself being happy at that moment and I smiled.

But looking at those moments also reminded me of the times beyond those moment.

Times when things gets harder, when things doesn't seem too bright and times when I got hurt a lot. Those times when you wish you doesn't exist, times when you wish you had everything and those times when you wish you were numb of all senses...

Then, I find myself wondering, in all those times I was down, Why had I never remembered those times that makes me smile? Through all the pain I've been through, why didn't the happy memories keeps me from dying inside? Had I been ignorant? Had I been blind? Or am I just really forgetful?

"Aaaah" I thought to myself... Maybe this is the reason I had these pictures. Maybe this is the reason, people capture those one moment in time...

It's to remind them again, when they are down, there are happy memories...
Despite the bleakness, there was once a light..

and we must never forget it, so that come what may, we would always be able to pick ourselves up - even when we're broken down to bits and pieces.

and smile :)

keep smiling alls,

A MAN man up and say sorry, BOY!

It is seriously frustrating and irritating when you have to deal with a man-boy. A man-boy I mean here is a male who is SUPPOSED to be mentally matured at their age (early twenties) and THINKS themselves as a full-fledge male and TRY to carry themselves as a man but in reality, they are mentally inadequate to act as one and thinks that the world revolves around them and nobody else mattered but themselves.

In other words an immature MAN who still thinks like a BOY.

Don't get me wrong, there are early-twenties guys who are refreshingly matured and very much reliable, in fact, I have come across a lot of them but in this post I'm talking about those who are not.

When I was in my late teens and even up until now in my mid-twenties, every now and then this type of man-boy will appear right in front of me. I have to admit, it is a delicious prospect for me to try and knock some sensibility into them but for each and every time, I find that dealing with man-boys are ultimately exhausting. Emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausting. Having a woman-girl who has little toleration with BSs at the side at that particular moment definitely does not help the situation (yeap my darling lil sis).

One characteristics shared by ALL man-boys I've met is they NEVER say sorry. What's worst is that they DO NOT know they are in the wrong or if they do, they just don't want to admit it.

I always find this very puzzling. What is so hard about saying sorry? It won't kill you, it won't hurt you, it won't make you look less. In fact, saying sorry makes you the BIGGER person. Saying sorry makes less people hurt (emotionally and perhaps physically). Saying sorry when it is appropriate to do so marks a MATURE and WISE man.

Two most prominent time I have encountered this man-boy type was when I was 20 and just recently. For as long as I had known them, they had hurt my feelings numerous times, and they knew it. They had crossed the line for "joking" so many times and they knew it but they NEVER say sorry. Not even when I decided to walk away.

Five years ago, after being brutally beaten and hurt (emotionally) by a man-boy I decided to walk away from him. I decided that it was time for me to put myself first and not be hurt by him again (which I failed miserably). When we reconciled as friends, until the very end (I totally disconnected myself from him 2 years later) he never once said he was sorry to me - even when he admitted his wrong to his friend. He was hurt the way that he had hurt me and even worse both of the times, yet still he had never apologized to me.

Now, five years later, I found another man-boy. I am no longer that 18 years old girl who is so very excited with love and life but has little or no filtering for heartbreaks anymore. Thankfully, I had matured with age and know better than to hurt myself over a guy who is not worth my emotions.

But this was a different set of circumstances, because I am not romantically interested in him. He was more like a lil brother or a friend and I am merely an observer. I saw and witness all the things that the last guy did all over again - only this time I am not the recipient of those  cruel treatments. I try to warn the girls (yes there were more than one) about what they might be subjecting themselves to (in the most subtle way) but I know, I wouldn't be able to save them from the heartache I once felt. So I tried to drum in a little reasoning to the man-boy but unfortunately, like all man-boys, he just wouldn't listen and just blatantly REFUSE to see their wrong. So, even as a friend I too had to deal with the tantrums of this man-boy and let me tell you, it is damn FRUSTRATING. Just imagined, he had caused his cousin (who had an appointment with me) to be late for our appointment an hour and a half (which caused me and my sis wasted a good three hours waiting for the appointment), but still asked WHY he needed to apologize and WHAT wrong did he did!! (thanks to that, I now have a topic for my blog).

so for both times, I told them,

A real MAN man up and say SORRY when they are in the WRONG. You still have a LONG way to go, BOY!
(the first time I added, call me only when you have GROWN UP!)

Other (annoying, infuriating, exasperating) characteristics shared by man-boys,

They are BAD with promises
They are think everything revolves around them
They think their feelings are the most important thing and others just don't have any feelings or if they do, it mattered less then theirs.
They think that the world and everyone else MUST follow or WILL follow their rhythm and will not subject himself to change it.
They think they are "old" enough.
They usually assumes they are the only one who is right.
Some of them also assumes that they are very knowledgeable in everything.
They can be heartlessly cruel
They seldom own up to their mistakes

Yet other (still annoying, infuriating, exasperating when combined with the above) better characteristics shared by man-boys,

They are good friends, who will go to lengths to help you (when they feel like it)
They are smooth talker (well, at least they know what to say at the right time)
They know how to please people (but some of them when people (especially girls) started to feel special with the treatment and care they showed, they will pull themselves out in the most cruel way)
They are curious, intelligent people (although their performance in studies vary on their level of commitment) thus they know a lot of things (usually unrelated to studies).
They are heart-throbs (whether they realize it or not)

Through time, these man-boys do grow up. They will mature and by that time, be ripe for plucking. hahaha. And I must say that I'm looking forward to what kind of person they will bloom into. My only wish is for them to NOT TAKE A DAMN LONG TIME to do so!!!! lols~

For them

This will be a long post of a special tribute to some special friends I met this past two years. They had just finished their studies and after this, I might or might never see them again after they all embark on their own journey. Since it's written specially for them, I decided to write this post in Bahasa.

Pernah tak, korang berkenalan dengan orang yang korang rasa korang kamceng gila, tapi sebenarnya bukanlah kawan korang?

A week - The last goodbye.

I know, my blog had been very gloomy this past weeks. I had been in that mood for the first three days and in and out of it after that. But, there's a limit for everything - even for mourning. Time will heal, although it might be slower than we hope.

This post, is my last goodbye to him. Every time he crossed my mind, I'd be saying a prayer, so that he'd have an easy life There. For this one last post, I decided to compile his pictures with us. With his friends who loves him and miss him dearly, who will always keep him as a part of us.

Goodbye, Muhammad Irsyad b. Hamin.

This time, it's forever~

6th Day.. Did you know?

Did u know,
Before I met you, before I even know you, I've heard your name comes up in conversations with my sis countless of times? Even before then, I was already laughing because of you.

Did u know,
After our second meet, I was already so very fond of you? And our frequent meet did nothing but conform that fondness.

Did u know,
I was always jealous of your little bickering with my sis because of how close you guys seem? Sometimes I wish you were bickering with me instead, and that's why I tease you so much.

Did u know,
Each time I'm meeting up with my sis, I was hoping she'd be with Mal who would also bring you along? And each time you were not there, I became disappointed.

Did u know,
I always thought going for karaoke without you is no fun? Actually going anywhere without u is no fun.

Did u know,
I am you biggest fan? I really like your voice, that's why each time I ask you to sing songs for me.

Did you know,
because you are you, I allow your friends to spin gossips about us, even when I have no romantic feelings for you?

Did you know,
I enjoy the look of bashful anger you have when your friends tease you? That's why sometimes I fueled it up more.

Did u know,
You are one of a few guys that I trust without doubt?

Did u know,
I always ask Mal to send my regards to you even though he seldom told you so? Just to show you that I had been thinking of you.

Did u know,
you were the first friend that comes into mind when I want to find a friend?

Did u know,
You are on my top 5 person I enjoy to spend time with? I always laugh when you are around me.

Did u know,
I could never stay mad at you for long. In fact I was never really mad at you for any reason.

Did u know,
I used to find it difficult to explain our relationship. An acquaintance? A friend? My sister's friend? My sister's boyfriend's friend? A brother? Saying you are just another friend does us no justice. You were more than that. You were you.

Did u know,
I always wish you think of me as a good, close friend, the way I think of you?

Did u know,
amongst the people I know, you were the one with the most vivid and livid expressions? and that's what make me miss you so.

Did u know,
When I jokingly said I miss you, I really meant it?

Did u know,
I share with my family silly, funny little things you said and do so that they feel close to you the way I do?

Did u know,
I would've left everything I was doing if you ask me for help? I'd do everything in my power to help u because I know you would do the same for me.

Did u know.
How happy I was when you told me about that girl you really liked? It made me feel you trusted me.

Did u know,
How disappointed I felt when you didn't? That was why I kept poking around and ask you.

Did u know,
When u told me you were close making her you girl, I was rooting for you? Because to me, u deserves to get which ever girl you want. U deserve to be happy.

Did u know,
When Mal told me you were admitted to the hospital, I wanted to run to your place?

Did u know,
How I wish I did?

Did u know,
Each time I saw u, I have so much to say, but I said nothing? At least nothing important.

Did u know,
It was the same when I visited u at the brink of your death?

Did u know,
Even when you were gone I still expect to see you with your silly expression coming from around the corner?

Did u know,
If I ever say anything harsh to u, I never meant it in a bad way?

Did u know,
I am so thankful for that day when Mal brought u along and introduced u to me?

Did u know?

I have accepted that you are gone. I don't cry each time I remember you anymore sometimes, I would even laugh and smile while reminiscing our memories. I'm writing this hoping, that somehow, this things I want you to know will reach you.

After this, I'll dedicate to you one last post. One last post to keep you forever archived in my heart. My dearest friend :)

Hope you've gone to a much better, brighter place.

5th day... Knowing you is something I'll NEVER regret

5th day.
I will always remember you
I will always miss you
I will always cherish you
I will always keep you as a part of my life
No matter how long or how far I go
Know that a part of you
Will always be with me.

Fourth day

I know I am being really gloomy this few days. But give me some time to nurse my shock in losing a good friend. Give me this week at least, to attribute my posts for him, for Muhammad Irsyad b. Hamin.

The fourth day since you're gone.
I have come in peace with my emotions.
I have come to accept that you are no longer here~
I do not weep needlessly anymore.
I smile each time I reminisce some of our good times.
But still,

I miss you.

a lot. I miss you a lot.

Each time I say a prayer for you, I wish you'd hear me.
Each time I feel like telling you something, I wish you'd hear me.

Kiranya kau mendengar ketika ini~

Lebaran senyummu
Membuatku rindu
Perasaan ku layu tanpa bicara hatimu
Jiwaku luluh tanpa suluh cahaya matamu
Kiranya kau mendengar ketika ini

Kulalui duka dalam laung ketawa
Kulalui duka dalam pasrah dan nestapa
Sungguh-sungguh aku mengharapkan
Kiranya kau mendengar ketika ini

Kau tiada mendengar tika ini, aku tahu
Pergimu bersama seruan
Laung-laungan suci
Dipayungi rintik-rintik air mata
Membasahi tanah di pusara

I want to hear you sing your favorite songs you always sang
I want to hear you sing those songs I loved to ask you to sang

But, there is no more song from you. Ever.

Tiada lagi kidungmu~

Air mata yang berderai
Siapa yang menghapuskan
Hati kering dan gersang
Siapa yang meneduhkan

Sedangkan kau yang ku sayang
Telah pergi dari ku
Dengan cinta dan harapan hidupku
Oh sayang

Tiada lagi ku dengar kidungmu
Tiada lagi derai tawamu
Hanya kesepian yang kian
Mencengkam jiwaku

Malam malam dingin membeku
Hari hari kian kelabu
Dalam doa kudus ku sebut nama mu
Cintaku... Oh sayang
Damailah kau di sana
Di sisi Tuhan yang Esa

I know it's time to let go.
I am letting go

But just a little bit...
Let me reminisce you
Just a little bit...
let me miss you
Just a little bit...
Let me remember you

For as much as I want to and like to

And as always, my prayers will be with you, my friend.

Sweet Memories~

Three Days...

It's been three days.
Three long empty day.

I still can't except you're gone.

I know I should let you go.
Believe me, I did. I do.

But I just can't shake this feeling.
Longing, hoping, wishing~

To laugh and cry with you
To speak with you
To joke with you
To tease you
To just see you

Hoping that I'd wake up from this long nightmare.

But it is not meant to be.

I'm okay

I told myself that over and over again
and I really want to believe it.
I joked and laugh and tease and reminisce when I'm around people.

But when I'm in my room, alone.
My mind, my heart and my eyes betrayed me.
It started weeping.
I can't be strong when I'm alone.
I can't stop myself from thinking when I'm alone.
I can't stop the surge of tears that come over me when I'm alone.

I'm sorry

It will be better, I swear. But for now,
My only choice is to write this here.
So that I could stop myself from crying cause I know that will make you sad.
So that I could take a deep breath and let go.

I'm okay

or at least, I will be.
You don't have to worry about me.
Just be happy There. okay.
Be really, really REALLY happy.
My prayers will always be with you.

My dearest friend,
Muhammad Irsyad b. Hamin

In loving memory~

Goodbye My Friend~

This is a dedication.
Not only to Irsyad who had left us.
But also to those who he left.

Post ni bukan utk Irsyad je.
Ni utk kita semua yang dia tinggalkan.

Semoga kita dapat merelakan pemergiannya...

I translated this especially for you guys.
Ni lah lebih kurang maksud lirik nye.
Yang aku besarkan tu,
ditujukan buat Irsyad.
Yang besar giler tu
utk kita sama2 renungkan~

Yang lain-lain
peringatan buat kita, termasuklah diri aku sendiri~

Jangan membiarkan sesiapa merampasnya

no no no no
Masanya untuk kita ucap selamat tinggal
no no no no
Jangan lupa kau ada tempat untuk bersandar

It felt like a nightmare~ one that I could NEVER wake up from.

The day was a clear day. Cloudy, with soft breeze. It looks like any other ordinary day.

Except today, was the day Irsyad's body is being burried. The last day for us to see his face.
Hari jenazah Irsyad dikebumikan - hari terakhir, kali terakhir untuk kami menatap wajahnya.

As early as 5 am, we started our journey to his home town. There were 6 cars. All of them friends who loves him dearly and wanted to see him off to his final journey.

The downcast faces of his friends

Maybe because lack of sleep or perhaps due to too much crying or perhaps it is the numbness that came with sadness, it almost like I was floating through today.

It felt unreal, almost like a dream. As if I would suddenly wake up and realized it's just a tasteless bad dream. Seeing him in his last attire, I almost thought he'd wake up and put on his blur face then he would smile and laugh at our ridiculously sad faces.

But he didn't.

He just lay there unmoving...

dead.

As they took him away on his last vehicle to the cemetery, all I can see is his face.

Laughingly joking
mockingly smiling
smiling stupidly
playfully teasing
bashfully angry

each and every one of the faces he wore so well played on my mind like a movie. And worst - I can't stop it. There's no pause, or stop or rewind button. It just kept on playing.

I know for sure. There will be no one else like him.
There will be no replacement for Irsyad.

When he was buried, and prayers are being read, I feel a sense of longing - one that I know would never be cured.

It felt like I am in a nightmare - one that I could NEVER wake up from.

but it's the reality and I would have to accept it - no matter what.

I asked for this bracelet of his to be kept from his mom.

It felt so heavy on my wrist

I gave it to him on his 20th birthday last year - because he was a real fanatic MU fan..

It's a cheap old thing, but he kept it with him as a key chain to his motorcycle it has been a year now, but it is still in a good condition.

Now I'm going to keep this for him - as a reminder to me of a great friend, who went his own sweet way.

Goodbye, my friend.
You'll always be here, in our hearts.

Al Fatihah~
