Love... "sigh"

These few days I was confronted with things related to 'love'. It seems that everyone that is important and close to me are happily (well, most of the time) in love. Just yesterday, in a modul session we were asked to write about what we 'love' is to us. I find myself unable to write anything, I know nothing... so, I just wrote - sincerity.

Then later, a friend who had a big crush on this one girl get his crush crushed like a pinata under a steamroll when he found out she has a bf. I made a vow to myself to NEVER play cupid again. I really wished I never knew what I knew and had to tell him of what I knew. Then, he could have kept her in his heart, even if it's just watching her from afar. But when he did make contact, and me knowing that she already have another, I just couldn't let him get stringed along. I could have let him be to find out for himself, but I also know the hurt that comes with having false hope. I couldn't subject another to that kind of hurt, not intentionally... I'm sorry friend.. I am so sorry... But do know this, I think what you did is so cute and sweet. It's too bad for her, she can't get with you. I mean it from the bottom of my heart :)

So I thought today, I'm going to talk about love. No... scratch that. I don't even know what love is. So, I'm just posting up things I found on the net about love. Oh, just the usual things, quotes and pictures...

And my favorite quote

"Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you're just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU... The one who turns to his friends and says, that's her..."

Cheater Cheats!!

Cheater cheats!! And man, I feel like a cheater already. I cheat a lot of days of updating this blog. Didn't I made a vow to myself that I would key in at least once in two days? I guess, my laziness just besieged my will.

Which brings me to my topic today (or very early morning I should say) cheating. People would usually ask question why people cheat. Women are always asking why men cheat. In the matter of cheating, there's infidelity, cheating in exams, cutting the queue, etc etc... I would say, there would never be a clear answer to that. There are always going to be more than one reason or variables (if I want to make it 'sound' more scientific). There would always be just another 'trick' up 'in the sleeves'.

So what I want to ask is not why, but rather who. Who cheats? And then I'll answer to myself, everyone. EVERYONE cheats in one way or the other. It could be cheating on their partners, in exams, in their diet, their vow, cheating on themselves, basically just about anything. They may not mean it, but they certainly do. So why even argue on that matter. Statistically or not, both men and women lie and cheats. Don't care what the figure shows, to me, it is in the same amount.

One kind of cheating we do to ourselves unconsciously is rationalizing. When things seems bad or when we are put under pressure, or when we just don't really think before we act, we do what psychologist and researchers called rationalizing. In other words, we assign meaning to our actions, just to make it plausible at that time. When I was reading at theory, I can't help but to nod in agreement. I know I do rationalizing, do you?

So, when is it alright to cheat? When is it not? As a ground rule, cheating is wrong. People should not lie, or cheat. But what if truths just cause pain and hurt? Then, does lies and cheat doesn't? Often we thought that lies could shelter people from being hurt by the truth, but without intending to, we actually hurt them even more with lies. What about cheating to ourselves to ensure our own happiness, contentedness in our lives. Then, at those times, would we be smiling more then when we admit the truth?

People make choices. At the time we usually think it's the right one. Like it or not, we have to live with the choices we made. Cheating is also a choice. It's either the truth or lies. Middle lines does not exist. It's just our fabrication made by rationalizing. I'm not suggesting that cheating is right, I'm not saying it's wrong either. It's up to u to choose.

I'm just another brat with opinions.

Eumora??

A friend of mine introduced me to this product. Truth be said I was absolutely skeptical about it. "Get real!! This is so bogus!" Well, until I tried the bar myself. Now I'd say, "Don't hate me when you see me next with soft flawless skin.. hoho"

The best thing about the bar is that it can be used for the whole body, not just for face. It's even effective for hair loss - seriously. I was never the one with too much skin problem, but my hair fall - I could only describe it as the leaves falling on the autumn season. Yeah, very bad, and so my friend ask me to try this and it works!

How many of you spent countless of money to buy skincare products but only to have little or no result? How many of you spent thousands of Ringgit to get your hair back only to lose it all again? Or, do you know anyone else who does? Really, I recommend you to try this product. Compared to hundreds and thousands of ringgit you've spent before, try out this product, one bar should be enough - at a price of RM95. Yes, I know, for a small bar it seems too much, but the results really befits the price. Now let's compare,

TREATMENTS                                                      PRICE

1. Whitener                                              RM250.00
2. eye bag remover                                   RM 298.00
3. closing up pores                                     up to RM10,000 / treatment
4. Toner                                                   RM 50.00 - RM200.00
5. Concealer                                             up to RM1416.00
6. Anti aging cream, moisturizer etc               up to RM1,000.00
7. Collagen (Vitamin C , Botox or laser)         RM 5000.00 and above
8. Normal facial treatment                           RM 200.00 - 300.00

Well, not such a bad deal if I may say so. With eumora, u don't need those other things. One product is all u need. And, if you apply to your face, all you need is three minutes to see instant results. Seriously!!

However, During the healing Crisis, Conditions Mentioned Below May Occur

• Skin Starts To Become Dry / Peel
Dead skin layer starts to peel off due to the effect of active cell regeneration and cell rejuvenation. Peeling usually will last for 2 -7 days. For some users, peeling will take a longer time till their skin condition has improved. This condition will slowly improve and your skin will eventually be continuously hydrated from inside out and you will not need to use moisturizers ever! Continue using the bar, Shorten the usage to 30 seconds/1 minute per wash.

• Skin Starts To Feel Painfull
New skin is formed and the new skin is very sensitive now. This also can happen when it is over use it. Stop using the bar for roughly 2 - 5 days until the pain finally relief. Continue using the bar, Shorten the usage to 30 seconds/1 minute per wash.

• Pimples Starts Popping Up
Part of detoxification process. Pimples will dry up and heal in short time, duration is varied from individual to individual depending on you face skin condition. As long as you ignore them, they will disappear soon enough and you will see your skin become even smoother and glowy. Continue using the bar, Shorten the usage to 30 seconds/1 minute per wash.

• Dark/Red Spots Can Be Seen (very rare, unless your face skin is very unhealthy).
This is part of detoxification process. Dark spot will faded and disappearing in the short time. Duration is varied from individual to individual depending on your skin condition. Continue using the bar, Shorten the usage to 30 seconds/1 minute per wash.

BEWARE of copycats. Some of you might have heard of Amoorea product. Which claims to be exactly like Eumora only cheaper. I found it here. Everything it claimed there almost sounds true. I almost believe it myself and started to doubt eumora. But, with a simple check on their 'supposed' headquarters the Envair Holding Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, proves that it is bogus. Why you say? simple, Envair holding is not a cosmetic company, they install clean rooms!! or as they stated, they are "fully integrated clean environmental engineering technology service provider". Now that does not sound like a company which produces soap bars now does it? You can click here for their main website if you don't believe me. But, I also found a seem to be like real website which shows that the product is genuine and it came from Hong Kong and Thailand here. Another one claims that the product had officially been launch at Sunway Pyramid last June. It also claims to be the endorser for Miss Malaysia. So judge for yourself okay!

Oh yeah tips, the new Eumora comes with an authenticity seal. check it out before you buy okay!!

Just recently, I was at a convention at KLCC Convention Centre. The crowd is proof enough

I was lucky enough to be able to meet the executives in the eSABee corporation. There were, some impressive people over there. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that eumora is a product of eSABee, a company from Singapore. You can check them out here. Yup. they are not some bogus company, They are the micro-algae technology experts which is one of the ingredients of the bar as well as moor.

If you want to know more about the product, just mail me at leonaakanana@gmail.com. If you want to try out the product you can also e-mail me and we'll see who is available near your place. If you want to order the product, you are more than welcome to contact me.

Again this is just my opinion. Hey, don't hate me... I'm just a brat XD

Allah is for Muslims???

Yup, I waited until everyone is exhausted listening to this issue to write up my opinion. Like always, I'm a step lagging behind. That doesn't mean I don't have any view on the matter though.

I was sent an e-mail by a journalist from an online news website. She's a non Muslim which I will refer as P. Here's the first e-mail (which she sent to many)

Hey guys!

I need your opinion! The reason why I messaged you guys is to ask for your thoughts on the Allah issue. Yes I know. Sensitive. But we want to prove that young people are level-headed and reasonable. I need answers that seek to calm, not provoke.

However, your feelings on this, no matter which way it blows, is 100% accepted. Go ahead and speak up. (Subject to the Editor's touch la of coz!) Say what you feel, but temper it with reason. Give me your email/MSN if you are keen.

Thanks!

I feel it's great that they wanted to know about youth's view and so I replied.

Allah is not an 'issue'. I feel it's not appropriate to use the word 'issue' here since 'issue' refers to a problem. If u say using the word 'Allah' to refer to Jesus - issue, then it will be okay.

As far as I am concern, there is not much of an issue if they want to use the term. It's not new. Sometimes, translations does use the term Jesus to indicate Allah as well - for better understanding. However, I do understand the fuss that is going on. To Muslim, Allah is the one and only god. He is not born nor does He bore. In christian however, they have the trinity concept. Where there is the father, the son and the holy spirit. This may be misleading to those who have poor knowledge of Islam. There were many - although unproven rumor that many Muslims have converted into other religion. Now, apostasy is not something that is acceptable to Muslims. Just like any other religion, they worry when their fellow followers, stray from 'the right path'. and so, using the term 'Allah' to signify other God than the one that we believe in is somewhat disturbing, when we look at the potential confusing that it would bring. The using the word is not such a big issue, but the catastrophe it would bring due to being confused is.

For me, the question I want to ask is not whether they could or could not use the term, instead what I want to ask is WHY? They too have their own term for their god "Jesus".. Then why do they need to use the term 'Allah'? What is their reasoning behind using the term? Are they purposely trying to evoke the wrath of people? Are they purposely trying to create chaos? Or is it merely an attempt to be 'poetic' gone awry? No matter how I look at it, I still want to know why? what is the need? I really hope that the Herald team would be able to give an ample reason for it.

As for the bombing that is allegedly related to the case. All I can say is that whoever it was is either purposely trying to wreck havoc or are extremely idiot. We don't know who it was or what religion or ethnic they are from but if they were Muslim, please parade them around in bound and shackles to be spit and throw stones upon. FYI in Islam, we are forbidden to attack worship houses (rumah ibadat) be it a church, a temple or a mosque. In fact our prophet (back when they always went to war) told his subjects to spare the people who seek refuges inside the worship houses. None are to be harmed and touch. And so I feel the people who tries to insult or destroy a religious home doesn't deserve to live peacefully.

and then, P replied to me

Hi Nana, thanks for your answer. Appreciate your feedback. :) Would like you to elaborate though.

1) what do you think is the effect of these bombings on our country's image?
2) What is the big picture to you? (big picture: ie, we need to live in peace., etc etc)
3) how do you think this issue can be resolved? Whats should be the right and fair reaction by all Malaysians?

And so, without fully answering her question, I answered...

The bombings would definitely mar the image of the country, without a doubt. But, I don't think it would permanently destroy the image - just as long as the culprit is apprehended, and they don't make it a trend to bomb things. Maybe I am foolishly optimistic or perhaps naive, but I see so many good things still here in our country, and so much potentials that can be used and exploited. Any and every country in the world, no matter how advanced, peaceful or calm it seems on the surface has their own internal dispute and turmoil - That's how we learn, so that we know how to improve ourselves.

I would love to paint a picture where people will start looking at the positive things and be thankful. When looking at the negative things, the thing they would be focusing on is how to improve the situation, instead of how bad or negative the situation is. It's good to acknowledge and analyze the problems at hand, but instead of working towards the solution, people tend to only focus on the problem - and that makes the problem worst. Painting a bleak picture to people who are ignorant and without thinking, those people started and joined the riot - without actually getting the correct information and even worse, without knowing what they are really doing. 'Peace' i believe is a condition of mind. What some people finds peaceful might be boring to others. This 'bored' people are the ones who create 'excitement'. and 'excitement' to some people might mean riot, turmoil, or even war for many others.

I agree with the government's decision to request the Herald to take out the term. I am not being racist here, but it's the thing that would calm the conventional minds. After retracting the term, if there are some people who is still trying to create an uproar, then perhaps, that person has a different agenda on mind, and should be investigated thoroughly. Whatever it is that would be done, one thing I would never consent to is if they use an outsider's influence. Meaning, seeking help from outside/ other country's power. That would only be repeating the same mistake that our forefathers did, when they allow the British to meddle into internal disputes - which then leads to our country being colonized for hundreds of years. As for the bombing cases, anyone with any information should come forward. Let's get those moron.

Yup, I'm lazy. I'm even cheating on writing my blog!!Lols. But it is my true opinion. Even as I read it again, I didn't want to change any of it - period.

The religion is sacred, it's the people who makes it look like it's corrupted - just another opinion from a brat.

A penny for thoughts

I'm gonna write about the YCM summit soon, but for today, I'm posting this that I read somewhere... Just another penny for thoughts :)

Read Each One Carefully and Think About It a Second or Two
  1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you..
  2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won’t make you cry.
  3. Just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.
  4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
  5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can’ t have them
  6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
  7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
  8. Don’t waste your time on a man/woman, who isn’t willing to waste their time on you.
  9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
  10. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.
  11. There’s always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.
  12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.
  13. Don’t try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.
  14. REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

Departure

If life has lost it's meaning, can you find meaning in death?

I happen to watch a trailer with something like the phrase above (I don't remember the exact words but it means something like that). And it triggers the blogger in me (sounds good when saying it that way doesn't it?... LOLs). Anyway, the title of the movie is Departure. Here's a summary I took from http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2691721/departures_movie_trailer/

"Daigo Kobayashi (Masahiro Motoki), a devoted cellist in an orchestra that has just been dissolved and who is suddenly left without a job. Daigo decides to move back to his old hometown with his wife to look for work and start over. He answers a classified ad entitled Departures thinking it is an advertisement for a travel agency only to discover that the job is actually for a "Nokanshi" or "encoffineer," a funeral professional who prepares deceased bodies for burial and entry into the next life. While his wife and others despise the job, Daigo takes a certain pride in his work and begins to perfect the art of Nokanshi, acting as a gentle gatekeeper between life and death, between the departed and the family of the departed. The film follows his profound and sometimes comical journey with death as he uncovers the wonder, joy and meaning of life and living."
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read that it won several awards. Maybe when I did watch it, I'll review it a bit here. But what was running through my mind when I saw the trailer, was a whole different thing than the storyline - SUICIDE.

When LIFE has LOST it's meaning... What do people do with their lives? What runs through their mind when there is no longer meaning for them to be alive? Is DEATH the answer? Will death brings any meaning at all?? A friend of mine once told me that people who commit suicide, -to him - is very brave. He said that killing another person is a thousand or million times more easy than killing oneself. Even when we intentionally try to hurt ourselves, like cutting your hand or knocking your head we would hesitate - a lot. I agree with him. so I said, "Suicide is the most bravest cowardice act in the world for the most coward people."

When you die, there is no meaning left. Not for you. For other people, well, maybe it will stick to them for a while but eventually, people will forget. then, what is there left?

If you feel like your reason to live is gone, then find another reason to live. You say you are depressed, the world look empty or cruel or cold or full of stress then, it's not the world, it's YOU. The world is only what you want it to see as. No matter how bad you think your situation is, there is always someone who is in a way more terrible situation than you. STOP with the 'you're not me, you don't know how I feel' or 'I have a lot of problems that you cannot understand' CRAP. Of course I don't understand, of course I don't know, I'm not you. I don't see the world in a negative light and find every other reason to make a fault at something like you. Even if you feel like your world is crashing, believe me, if you stop to actually look for a while, it probably isn't. I'm not saying the problem doesn't exist, but everyone have their own situation, have their own problem that they have to face. At a point in everyone's life, there will be problems and conflicts that can make a person just want to jump off a high rise or a cliff. But - the difference is weather you want to face it or run a way from it. Suicide, is simply the first easiest exit. And blaming others and everything else, is the second. Both easy exits never bring any positive result.

Now let's say that if you wronged someone, and you want to pay back by killing yourself, what you get is you dying... What about the other person??? They maybe have to live in trauma, they maybe felt like dying themselves, but no matter what happen, the wrong has not been right. there is no way the other person can feel that they had been done right for. In this case, dying is also the only easy way out. The more dreadful option is actually living facing the person. If you had done wrong, the only right thing you can do is to actually live, and face the consequence. Face the loathing that is being thrown at you and still help them anyway you can.Throwing in some other charity won't be such a bad idea as well.
Suicide to me, is an act that is VERY selfish. That's right - even when they justify it, as for someone else. They might say "They're better off without me" "If I'm not here, they will be happier" "If I die, they can get money" in the end, what they are thinking is themselves. They can't stand LIVING and become a burden for someone else - instead of working to lessen the burden, they choose death. They can't stand LIVING and being hated, - instead of working to be a better person, and find people who actually can like them, they choose death. They can't stand LIVING and be poor, - instead of striving to live and work to earn money, they choose death. Had they actually think about someone else other than themselves, they would've realized, no one wants them to commit suicide.

Jokingly, I always tell my friends, "if I can't get this or that, I'm gonna kill you." and they said "don't people usually kill themselves? why kill me?" I said, If I kill someone else, at least one day (in a country with no death penalty) I might be forgiven. Even in my religion, if I really repented, I could be forgiven. But if I kill myself, there is no more forgiveness to give. And even my God won't except me.

I don't remember what anime it was, one phrase I heard that time is still stuck on my heart until today. It says, "Live... as long as you're alive, you can do anything. As long as you're alive, you can be happy" - or something like that :)

A fortunate, Unfortunate day

I was reading my friend's blog the - Photography Journey - by Tham Joon Hao which reminds me of my own experience..

I was on my way to KL from Melaka with three of my friends. We're all girls, and we're in a group for an assignment we had. So we departed from our campus at 4, and was on our way to Damansara Utama, my previous home. We had an interview scheduled with a Berita Harian person, and didn't want to be late - we didn't want to give a bad impression.

My group mates... Ana, Lini and Erna

So anyway, I was the driver, and the time is reaching 6 o'clock in the morning when I felt that the car's tire behaving in a weird way. Lucky for us, I was only running 80km/h at that time, so I was able to control the car and bring it to a stop. We were all snapped out from our drowsiness... So we stepped out of the car and and what we saw, almost ripped my heart out. The right side back tire was 'history'.

My old car - already sent to scrap, the sad tools we had and the tire.

The cool thing was, we didn't panicked. Instead, what we did was to prepare to change the tire. We're not so sure if we can, but we were ready to try. As we were taking out and checking the tools (which was sad) and spare tire, we were again fortunate because at that instant, a patrol car stopped by. And so, the day was saved by the two Elite patrol gentlemen. It's too bad that I was a bit tipsy (not from drinking but from excitemant and sleepiness) to remember to take their pictures. Anyway, here's a close up to what the tire looked like...

The tire was already done for... the part it broke can actually be peeled off...

Doesn't it makes u feel we're very lucky to be alive?

Like I said, it was a fortunate, unfortunate day...

Random Blogging

I'm going back to my kampung now.. So I won't be able to post... Just thought I'd leave a random blog before doing so. This was a fan art I collected some years before. Sorry I can't give the credit to the artist, but I loved it nevertheless...

Even when you're looking at me, I wonder what do you see?
Do you see me, or just a fragment of what you want me to be...
